We asked our Redeemer community to SHOW UP STRONG on April 17th and you all answered the call with zeal!
For the second year in a row, Redeemer Classical School participated in the Great Community Give, an initiative of The Community Foundation designed to promote charitable giving in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. We set our sights high with a goal of raising $20,000 — the amount needed to cover the rest of our tuition assistance and free up funds to pay for current classroom renovations.
We knew reaching our goal would require help from the entire school community, including friends and family members, but we were confident in our ability to do so. Thankfully we not only met our goal, but we exceeded it! We raised $24,870 in a single day through the generosity of more than 200 individuals that gave 245 donations.
We made a big push to win the $1,000 prize awarded to the organization with the Most Unique Donors in the 11 o’clock hour … and we succeeded! 160 individuals gave almost $16,000 between 11 a.m. and 12 noon alone! Furthermore, raising $24,870 from sun up to sun down put us in third place on the overall leaderboard for Most Money Raised within our category (Medium/Large organizations). So we earned an additional $2,000 prize!
These prizes bring our TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED during the Great Community Give to $27,870! That. Is. Amazing.

A special thanks goes out to the following businesses for generously providing unlocking gifts, which were a great encouragement to our community and allowed us to surpass our $20,000 goal:
Scott Dunaway DDS for donating $2,500 when we reached $5,000.
Funkhouser Real Estate Group for donating $2,500 when we reached the $10,000 mark.
Good Wealth Management for donating $3,000 when we received $15,000 in donations.
