2020 Shenandoah Valley Regional Science and Engineering Fair

Even though Redeemer students competed in the Shenandoah Valley Regional Science and Engineering Fair only a little over a month ago, it seems like a lifetime. We realized we never posted about the results from the competition, so we thought we’d do so now.

Redeemer sent six students to the Fair which took place at JMU on March 10th. Our own RCS Science Fair had been held on Wednesday, February 26th. The judges for our school fair — all members of the scientific community — heard presentations from the 7th and 8th Grade Logic School students and asked them follow-up questions about their experiments. The projects students exhibited were the culmination of a year’s worth of work which included: researching a question, testing a hypothesis, analyzing the results, and encapsulating their work visually and orally. The judges awarded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbon as well as three honorable mentions, making six Redeemer students that would compete at Regionals.

Our Redeemer students once again had a great showing at the Regional level. Every student who participated won a medal in their category. Three students also earned additional honors. Congratulations to all of these winners!
