Green Valley Book Fair Contest Winners

“I already know what I'm going to enter next year!” exclaimed a Redeemer first grader to his art teacher, Mrs. Carpenter, just before Christmas break. He was speaking of the Green Valley Bookfair Bookmark Design Contest for 2021! Last year Redeemer students entered the Green Valley Bookfair annual bookmark design contest for the first time and it has already become a favorite for students.

As a part of the art curriculum, Mrs. Carpenter has Kindergartners through eighth graders work on their entries inside and outside the art room with only minimal guidance from her. She wants each student to feel ownership over their design and also to ensure entries can be merited as original work.

Students aren’t the only ones who enjoy the endeavor. Mrs. Carpenter states, “The combination of enthusiasm and creativity is a delight to witness,” adding, “we all love the Green Valley Book Fair … students enjoy knowing they’re part of a community activity celebrating the arts.”

The Green Valley Book Fair announced the chosen bookmark artwork, and several Redeemer students received recognition, including two Grand Prize Winners! The names and entries of Redeemer award recipients are below:
