At Redeemer Classical School, the Trivium is more than just a set of subjects that we study. For us, the Trivium forms the very framework of human learning, and so our entire curriculum is organized according to this pattern.

Teaching from a fully integrated Christian worldview is one of the distinctives of Redeemer Classical School. Unfortunately, what that means might not be as clear as we often think. With that in mind, I’d like to unpack some (though not all) of what that means for us at Redeemer Classical School. I hope you find it helpful.

The study of Latin is, perhaps, the most obvious distinctive of a classical education. When I tell others that our students study Latin from Kindergarten through eighth grade, I often get asked “Why?”

“Not in word, but in deed.” What a striking reminder that the goal of education, properly understood, is not merely to develop the intellectual capacities of our students, but to develop their character as well.
