“[We] do not cease go give thanks for you…””
From the Head of School
Giving thanks for the good
It’s quickly becoming cliché to start letters, articles — and yes, annual reports — by saying that 2020 was a year full of challenges. And for good reason. It’s true. But while 2020 was difficult in ways that we never could have imagined, we also experienced more than our fair share of BLESSINGS as a school community. As such, I’d like to take a moment to focus on the good. Not to ignore or downplay the bad, but because I want to fully appreciate and give thanks for the good.
Enrollment has continued to grow. In 2019-20 we welcomed a record 142 students to campus. In 2020-21 we grew to 151 students. Next year looks to be even larger with more than 180 students in PK-10th grade.
We renovated the cannery building to add two new classrooms that will be used by the Rhetoric School (high school).
In March 2020 we renewed our accreditation with VCPE and CSI, and added accreditation with Cognia/AdvancEd. That reflects the high academic, fiduciary, and governance standards with which Redeemer operates.
Our operating budget surpassed $1 million for the first time.
In June of 2020 we had a massively successful Great Community Give — raising over $30,000 in one day — in the midst of great uncertainty.
We not only survived a global pandemic, but, in many respects, have become stronger through it.
It is with all of that and more in mind that I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you, our supporters. You all have given of your time, your talent, and your financial resources to support the school that we love so dearly. We wouldn’t be where we are today without your love, dedication, and assistance. So I say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I pray that you will be encouraged as you read through this year’s annual report. God is working wonderfully and beautifully on our campus each and every day. I hope that you see that reflected here and join me in giving thanks.
Soli Deo Gloria.

The Numbers
Not everyone loves numbers like we do, but they can tell a very compelling story. Within their digits you can see some of the blessings we’ve experienced — as well as the challenges we face — as a school. We’ve highlighted a few of the more interesting numbers below for you.
Income (total = $1,125,940)
We bring in the bulk of our income from tuition and fees (e.g. extracurriculars), but you can see tuition does not cover all of our costs. Each year we raise a significant amount — through the generosity of donors like you — to help bridge the gap between tuition income and operating expenses. And this year we had some extra help from a special Covid PPP Loan, as well.
Expenses (total = $1,034,507)
Looking at our expenses you’ll quickly see that the vast majority of our outlay goes toward faculty and staff — the amazing professionals that make Redeemer so special. We could talk about their training and experience (together they boast and average of 15 years in the classroom), but it’s their faith, character, dedication and passion that truly sets them apart.
Your gifts to Redeemer’s Annual fund goes directly to making a high-quality classical and Christian education possiblible for all of our students.
Looking forward
As our enrollment grows and grade level offerings expand further into Rhetoric School — filling out all of 9th-12th grades — we’ll need to hire more teachers and add to our existing facilities to accommodate everyone. There’s much to be done, but there’s no limit to what we can accomplish with the Lord’s blessing. THANK YOU for being a part of this exciting time in the life of Redeemer Classical School!
Maxima Gratia
THANK YOu to all of the generous donors — both individuals and businesses — that believe in Redeemer Classical School and invest in the lives of our teachers and students.
