From the Head of School: Thanking God for this beautiful story

It’s time, once again, for us to share our Annual Report with you, our wonderful school community. It is a joy to work through these numbers each year in preparation for publishing them in this report, not because the numbers are so impressive (though, they are), but because they represent a much larger story. A story in which an increasing number of students’ lives are being transformed through Christ-centered classical education. A story wherein Redeemer is growing and thriving. A story that includes a cast of people — parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and donors — all working together to make a difference in the world by equipping the next generation to be the wise and virtuous leaders that we need. It’s a beautiful story, and I hope that you’ll join me in giving thanks to God for his abundant blessings in all of it.

The 2023-24 school year was an amazing one in myriad ways. Here are just a few of the highlights:

Our Numbers Continued to Grow. For the sixth year in a row, enrollment reached a record high with 249 students in PreK-12th grade. That’s a 63% increase in enrollment since the 2020-21 school year, and a 219% increase in the 10-year span since the 2013-14 school year.
The Class of 2024. This year also marked the first time in school history that we had a 12th grade and a graduating class of seniors. This meant lots of other firsts, as well, such as the Senior Trip and the Griffin Gala. And the celebration surrounding the Senior Send-Off and Graduation was spectacular.
Successful Conclusion of the Capital Campaign. In January of 2024, we closed out a $2M capital campaign with commitments in excess of $2.1M! Your generosity and support throughout the campaign were truly inspiring and heartwarming.
Capital Improvements Begin. The summer of 2023 marked the start of the capital improvement projects funded by the Cultivating Growth campaign. We renovated our bathrooms, a kindergarten classroom, parking lots, and the car loop. We continued those improvements in the summer of 2024 by expanding our septic system, renovating our Pre-K classrooms, adding padding to the gymnasium, adding a modular classroom, and starting work on a three-classroom addition to the Rookery.
Accreditation Renewal. In the fall of 2023, we renewed our accreditation with Christian Schools International. This marked the third accreditation cycle in our school’s history, and the process was remarkably smooth. The visiting team was thoroughly impressed with the education that students are receiving.
A Stellar Great Community Give. For the seventh year in a row, we set a school record for how much we raised at the Great Community Give in April. We raised $122,517 from you, our amazing donors! In the process we also earned $7,700 in prize money for winning our Power Hour and having the most donors overall.

It is with all of this in mind that I say THANK YOU for supporting Redeemer Classical School with your time, talent, and treasure. Your generous investment in the lives of our students and staff is truly remarkable. It isn’t an exaggeration to say that we couldn’t do this without you. I pray that, as you read through this Annual Report, that you’re encouraged by all of the amazing things that are happening at Redeemer on a daily basis. God is at work here in profound ways, and it’s a blessing and privilege to be a part of that work.

The Numbers

Not everyone loves numbers like we do, but they can tell a very compelling story. Within their digits you can see some of the blessings we’ve experienced — as well as the challenges we face — as a school. We’ve highlighted a few of the more interesting numbers below for you.

Income (total = $2,444,742)

We bring in the bulk of our income from tuition and fees (e.g. extracurriculars), but you can see that just tuition does not cover all of our costs. In 2023-24, it didn’t even cover our personnel costs. Each year we raise a significant amount — through the generosity of donors like you — to help bridge the gap between tuition income and operating expenses.

Expenses (total = $2,261,923)

If you look at our expenses you’ll quickly see that the vast majority of our outlay goes toward faculty and staff — the amazing professionals that make Redeemer so special. We could talk about their training and experience, but it’s their faith, character, dedication and passion that truly sets them apart.

Your gifts to Redeemer’s ANNUAL FUND goes directly to making a high-quality classical and Christian education possiblible for all of our students.
