Presenter:
Skip Burzumato is the rector of St. Andrew’s Reformed Episcopal Church in Savannah, Georgia, and is adjunct professor of sociology at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Before moving to Savannah he served as the executive director at the Center for Christian Study at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He has written and lectured on topics concerning marriage and the family, courtship and dating, as well as on the intersection of marriage, family and religion, for a variety of publications and institutions. Skip holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Memphis, and a master’s degree from Reformed Theological Seminary. He has been married to his wife, Stacey, for 23 years; they have four children.

In the United States:
Last year, four out of 10 children were born out of wedlock.
The overall divorce rate is over 40%.
Currently, over half of all first marriages are preceded by the couple living together.
When 1,100 college students were recently asked to rank a list of 18 characteristics they would prefer in a marriage partner, both men and women ranked “chastity” last.
In 1986 there were 100 fertility clinics in the U.S.; today there are about 450.
